Florida Eminent Domain Law

Full compensation is guaranteed by the Constitution to those whose property is divested from them by eminent domain. The theory and purpose of that guaranty is that the owner shall be made whole so far as possible and practicable.

Elements of full compensation include compensation for your property taken, compensation for damages to your remaining property, the payment of your attorney’s fees, expert fees, and costs, and in some cases the payment of your moving expenses.

In addition to full compensation, business owners can be eligible for business damages if certain criteria are met.

Our Goal is to maximize your recovery of both Full Compensation and Business Damages, and to protect you to the maximum extent possible through the entire eminent domain process.

Our practice is statewide, from Key West to Pensacola. Because a thorough understanding of your property is necessary to do our job, and we want to minimize any inconvenience to you, we will meet with you at your property.

WE DO NOT CHARGE YOU ANY MONEY AND OUR FEES WILL NOT REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF YOUR RECOVERY.   THE CONDEMNING AUTHORITIES ARE REQUIRED TO PAY OUR FEES AND COSTS OVER AND ABOVE THE COMPENSATION TO YOU.
